Housing
Can I bring someone with me-husband, boyfriend,
children, etc.?
Yes! It's all about you. We choose your housing
based on your needs. National Healthcare
Staffing offers outstanding housing that include
free private housing, as well as two bedroom
private apartments which are available for a
nominal apartment fee. Our personal recruiter
will discuss your housing needs to evaluate what
type of housing will best fit all your needs.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Of course, you can bring that family member
also! Just be sure to let your recruiter know
what type of pet you have and its weight. With
this information our housing staff will be able
to explore many options and determine which
apartment complex will be best for you and your
pet. Please remember that traveling with a pet
can sometimes limit the selection of available
housing. Also keep in mind that a pet deposit
may be required for certain complexes. National
Healthcare Staffing picks up the cost for
security deposits for your apartment; however,
any additional pet deposits will be the
responsibility of the pet owner.
Will the housing be furnished?
Yes! We will furnish the apartment with a
standard package that will include: a couch, end
tables, lamps, coffee tables, TV stand, dinette
with 4 chairs, queen-sized bed with headboard,
dresser with mirror, nightstand and lamp. All
you'll need to bring is your own linens and
kitchen items.
Will there be a pool or fitness
center?
Most of the complexes, in which we house our
travelers, have the extra amenities, such as
pool, playground, fitness center, etc. Your
personal housing representative will make you
aware of all the amenities available at your
facility.
Will I have a washer/dryer?
99% of the complexes we use have washers and
dryers on premise. Many have washers and dryers
in the apartments, but again, this varies
depending on the complex.
How do I set up my utilities?
National Healthcare Staffing will take care of
everything involved in electric, gas and water
utilities. Phone and cable will be the only
things you'll need to set up if you so desire.
Payroll
When will I receive my first paycheck?
In almost all cases, National Healthcare
Staffing pays its travelers on the same pay
cycle as the hospital payroll. This makes it
easier for you, the traveler, because your pay
cycle will be the same as the hospital staff's.
The timing of your first paycheck will depend on
which hospital you are going to and when the
hospital's next payroll period ends. Once you
have a full week of hours and your hospital's
staff is being paid, that means you will be
paid. The pay week goes from Sunday to Saturday.
If National is in Florida and I am
across the country how do I get my paycheck?
Direct deposit is the easiest, safest and most
timely way for your paycheck to reach your bank
account. You will simply fill out a form that
will deposit your paycheck electronically. This
will help to avoid mail and delivery hassles, as
well as free you from those last minute trips to
the bank.
If you choose to have a live paycheck
sent to you, you will have your paycheck Federal
Expressed to you.
There are two choices of Fed Ex deliveries
available to you. Two-day delivery is at no
charge to you and your check will arrive Friday
afternoon – no later than 7p.m., or you may
choose priority delivery to arrive by 10:30 a.m.
on Friday for a minimal charge of $10.
When do I receive my travel money?
Your beginning travel will be included in your
first paycheck and your end travel will be
included in your last paycheck of the
assignment.
What should I do if I can not get my
timesheet signed?
We recommend that you contact your nurse manager
and have her explain the hospital's policies in
regard to getting timesheets signed. It is your
ultimate responsibility to get your timesheet
signed.
